One2Six, but not as CSM

Apparently at Grand West in Cape Town, South Africa they use the One2Six shufflers, but not as CSMs. They maintain the discard pile, and simply use it to speed up shuffling. I'm going to check out their deck penetration soon. Has anyone else seen this practice at casinos elsewhere?
