No Smoking Casinos

Are there any 'No Smoking' casinos in the U.S.? I believe there was one in Reno years ago but see no recent reference. If not a whole no smoking casino how about large areas like separate floors or wings?

In trips this year to Atlantic City, Mississippi and Nassau, Bahamas, I found even single no smoking tables harder to come by, especially in busy hours.

A few year back, Silver City casino in LV was non smoking. Im not sure if it still is though.

.. and let me just say what a wonderful thing it was. While the other pit was packed, I had my choice of virtually any table and any limit. Nothing makes up for mediocre rules (5.0/6, D9, H17) like infinite heads-up and fresh air ;)

Some casinos have non-smoking tables, and a few have separate non-smoking pits (eg, Riverside in Laughlin). There was an entire casino on the Strip in Vegas that was non-smoking, but it went out of business.

When a casino does not have non-smoking tables, ask for one. You let the pit know this is important, and you might get lucky and get a non-smoking, heads-up table.

Suppose that you are in a restaurant and almost everyone drinks a glass of dessert wine after his meal. The nondrinkers will not be affected by the consumption of alcohol. Now suppose that a smaller portion of the diners smoke a cigarette or cigar. The restaurant will reek of tobacco smoke.

Somewhat ironic - many smokers flock to California Indian casinos because they are some of the few places in the state where it is still legal to smoke indoors.

Nonetheless, they also lead the way in offering non-smoking gambling. Most of the larger casinos have non-smoking pits. Pala (San Diego north county) even has a couple of casino-within-a-casinos, non-smoking rooms with separate ventilation systems.

Also, any player can ask that a table be made non-smoking, and if no one objects, the request is usually honored.
