Step into the future...
Just got back from a long trip and found a Casino that do not have dice on their Craps Tables. The "dice" are now actually cards dealt out of a CSM. The cards have a picture of a single die side. Two cards are delt to represent the "roll". The shooter rotation is the same but the shooter only dictates how many cards the dealer burns (from 1-3). The burn cards remain the same until the shooter 7's out. The table was full of players but lacked the energy of a normal craps table.
The same Casino had Roulette tables that did not use a ball or a traditional wheel with slots and alternate colors. The wheel was of the same size as a traditional wheel but was solid and about 4 inches thick with slots. Each slot held a playing card with a number and color . The card showed a number and color on one side. The dealer would spin the wheel, players would place bets then he spun the wheel a little harder wait a few seconds then waive his hand over the betting layout to stop any more bets. Then activate a small mechanical arm with a rubber stopper much like the Big Six has. The rubber paddel would stop the wheel slowly (like a Big Six wheel would) The wheel stops then the dealer takes the playing card out of the slot turns it face up on the table and settle the bets. After he finishes then he places the card back into the slot.
