You are absolutely right. Unfortunately, that is the same mindset that the casinos have. They are more concerned with getting your money than making you feel comfortable.
Most of the time I have found that the floorman will settle a dispute in the players favor in order to make everyone at the table happy. Not only will this keep the players at the table longer (to lose more money) but they will return more often (to lose even MORE money). They might even bring their friends next time. The result of that one decision could be exponential, either as a profit or loss, for the casino.
The trend in casino management has been to move away from customer service in favor of a better bottom line, but many of the decisions they make end up costing them more money than they know. They offer bad games so fewer people play. They install CSMs and many more people stop playing. In order to restore their profits they try to rip people off with horrendous 6:5 games and SuperFun 21, which even fewer people play. Now they are looking for any possible way to screw a player out of a $5 bet. These multi-billion dollar corporations have become penny-pinching scam artist with billboards that advertise a WHOPPING 6:5 on blackjacks or Most blackjacks pay 3:2 in order to trick people. They hide the 6:5 tables between the regular 3:2 tables so that anyone who doesn't notice the tiny sign on the table will get screwed every time he gets a blackjack, and hopefully will not notice. And they wonder why their profits have been slipping for the past decade.
The casinos biggest threat is not from card counters but from BEAN counters!
