I spent a weekend in Vegas recently and got backed off there for the first time ever. I feel like I have lost my virginity. I have only counted in Vegas a few times, but never got any heat, though many of the dealers have clearly pegged me as a counter fairly quickly.
I was backed off on the third shoe at a shop I had never visited before, which surprised me.
I also played at a national chain using my players card even though I have been backed off at their casinos in other states. I played there for half an hour under my own name without any heat. I finally just left. I wanted to see what they would do and they didn't do anything. The conditions weren't great, though I ended up 5 big bets in that half hour.
I also played at many of my favorite spots for hours without any attention. Ended the trip up 25 big bets in 20 hours of play.
