I'd say 60% of players use High Low and the other 40% use KO, Zen, AO2, Halves, or some other count. Hopefully you are side counting Aces because Hi-Opt 1 is weak without it. You won't win much more switching but if playing deeply dealt pitch games Zen, Hi-Opt II, or AO-2 will win about 10-15% more than Hi-Opt 1. Hi-Opt 1 with Aces is just marginally better than High-Low in deeply dealt games but that Ace side count, easy for single and double deck, gets more difficult to maintain for shoes.

High Low is the industry standard.

Don't forget that the pit personnel also use Hi-Lo to monitor the action which makes a good case for using a multi-parameter level two system. One more way to get below the radar screen.

So your multi-parameter, level 2 count is going to identify advantageous situations so strong as to warrant a max bet or large bet while the pit, who is counting down with hi-lo still has a neutral count? I think not. It may occasionally identify a situation that you have a slight advantage and would slightly increase your wager that hi-lo might not, but those slight and rare occasions aren't going to buy much cover. Certainly not 'keep you below the radar'. The times that the count is high enough to warrant max bets or really large wagers, nearly all reasonable counts, including hi-lo will identify.

The difference between systems has minimal effect on your win rate. The quality of the game has the most influence. Like Wong says, something to the effect "You're time is better spent finding a game where you can get a few extra chips on your bet than going to a more complex system."

Computerized evalution does not use High Low, it actually figures your exact edge using the actual Effects of Removal from Theory of Blackjack. It doesn't use a point count at all. As for the counter catchers, most probably use something like High Low but there are no guarantees. That new book on Casino Surveillance suggests that many use the Revere APC. I don't think using an advanced count offers much for cover your high bets occur when you have an edge and your low bets occur when you don't have one. Do it enough and you get busted.

All the known blackjack teams,ie M.I.T.,Tommy Highland, etc used hi-lo. End of story.

Most people believe that big teams use sophisticated counting systems but this isn't the case. What gets the money is the bet spread coupled with long hours and minimal mistakes. The counting system is like a basic language for the team and Hi-Lo is almost always the chosen one.

I am not doubting you I just was curious how someone could make such a definitive statement. Could you or your life coach give me some advice ? I am about to take another trip to Biloxi this is the tenth trip this year. All I have been able to do is break even {over all).
