Match play coupons

Most casinos have what they call match play coupons that they give out and what it is is that you can put up a coupon with a bet of the same amountas the coupon and if you win you will be paid off the amount of the coupon and the amount of the bet. If you have a match play coupon of $10 you would wager $10 on the pass line and if you win you would be paid off $20.My wife would both recieve them and here was a way I beat the casino for a month or so. My wife and I would both play the match plays at the same time, one wouldplay the dont pass along with a $10 bet and one would play the pass line with a $10 wager. As long as a 12 wasn't rolled on the comeout there would be a profit of $10 no matter if the shooter made his point or 7nd out.If a 12 was rolled there would be a loss of $10.We did this for a total of 18 times fora protit of $180 until on he 19th time the pit boss said we couln't do that. I tried to explain there was nothing on the coupon that said we couln't but he didn't listen. Now the coupons have changed saying that they can only be played on the pass line and not the dont pass line. So this last time with my other half I placed the coupon down with a $10 wager on the pass line and my wife put down a $10 wager on the pass line. What this did is to place a bet that can win $10 if the shooter rolled a natural on the comeoutor if the shooter made his point. If the shooter 7nd out or threw a comeout 2 or 3 the bets would break even. A 12 would show a loss of $10.So save those Match plays and get someone else to make the opppisite bet and you can't lose except for the 12 rolled on the comeout and if you do this do it secretely so they dont know you are together.It felt real good for a while to place a bet that couldn't lose until they realized that two people could beat them unless a 12 is rolled( a 35 to 1 shot). We played at different sides of the table to not arouse suspician until one sharp pit boss figured out what we were doing. Sonext time you get a Match play coupon in the mail or at the casino think about this way to wager. Good Luck

My wife would place a wager on the DONT PASS line and I would place a wager on the PASS LINE along with a match play coupon, sorry about that

If you did it 18 times and each time you (and your wife) had 2 ten dollar match plays, then you had 36 coupons which gives you chance to win $360. I realize this is "guaranteed (almost)" money, and I must admit I did the same thing except I put 10 on the pass with the match play and 10 on the don't with another match play "guaranteed" $10 until one of the pit bosses gave me the boot. I just took my chances and played the pass line. You might win, but you might lose. Betting $10 to win $30 ain't a bad deal and I am sure the expected value is more than the "guarenteed" money. I have done the math (roughly) a long time ago. I am sure someone could do it. Good luck

Teach, we would both play a match play, one on DP and the other on Pass along with a $10 wager. If a natural is thrown the Pass player wins $20 and the DP better would lose $10 so no matter what the results(unless a 12 was thrown there would be a profit of $10 each time we played.So it would take 2 coupons to win $10. Now the way I played it last time (with only one coupon)there would be a profit of $10 or I would break even. If just played the pass line with the coupon if the pass line won there is a profit of $20 but there is a possibility of losing $10 if the DP won. The other way there is no way to lose unless the shooter threw a 12. Mathematically it probably is better to just play the Pass with the coupon but if someone has alot of coupons I like the idea of not losing (winning $10 or break even)--a very positive edge.

How do you get so many Coupons? I have found it difficult to get more than 2 or 3 per visit.

For a little while they would put the match plays in the newspaper and I would cut them out and use them. After a month or so they stopped. That is how I got so many. The casino will sometimes send them in the mail.It is much harder to get them unless one is a big better. My friend a few times got eight $100 match plays to use because of his high roller ways. It seems that most say on the pass line only so yo would have to get someone to play the Dont pass for the same amount as you with your Pass line bet with the match play.A pass line winner yu win $10, a dont pass winner you would break even and a 12 you would lose $10 .

Option 1: Milk $10 mathchplays. Make $5 per coupon. Flush about 100 of them. Make $400-$550 before being cut off.

Option 2: Come up with a clever way to "lock in" $4.90 per coupon. Play 20 of them, and make $100. Piss off management. They limit all your coupons such that you can only make around $250 before cutting you off.

......personally I prefer option 1.

I see this sort of thing a lot. A casino "gives it up" bigtime, and players kill the game with silly abusive ways to totally hedge risk, rather than just killing them and eating a little variance. It drives me crazy. Players using "don't pass" matchplays, for example, and getting a higher expectation to the 4th decimal point. And totally pissing off the ees and players doing so.

Fezz, I see what your saying but when the original coupons came out there was nothing saying how you had to play them.To win $10 or whatever amount by using 2 coupons and playing both sides was a smart way to play.Sure, after they realized they were losing they since have made them only work now for the pass line or field bets. Betting sports we are trying to find lines that are beatable and using those coupons were no different, we are trying to get a positive edge on our betting. If I made only one bet and had the option of winning or breaking even OR winning or losing I would take option 1.

Caveat: I'm picking on you and I shouldn't be, since you are in the top 5% of all players. Having said that, I'm going to express myself.

This is silly. Everyone knows matchplays are worth just under 1/2 of face value. The only way to win is to find a way to be asked not to play. Your strategy maximized the chance that this would happen. It was a ploppy move,without any doubt.

Let's use a sports analogy.

I place gives you a free point Friday night including on/off NFL three.

Sharp Bettor: Takes all the 3s up to 3.5 or down to 2.5.

Ploppy Bettor: Plays every 3 game both ways on the same account. What's worse the ploppy thinks he is a sharp!

Ploppy bettor: "There was nothing in the rules to stop me from doing this! I got the same ROR, and almost no risk. Then those jerks barred me from playing any pro 3!"

Heavy sigh........this is why I gave up trying to manage most teams of bettors. "Totally obvious" stuff is just not obvious to anyone!!
