If the gain from the matchplay coupon is significant compared your bankroll then continue. If the gain is minuscule compared to your bankroll, then obviously it does not make sense to hassle with them.

I would think even a black chip AP'er with a huge BR, would appreciate a $5 matchplay.
I think the matchplay is not worth it if you have to go out of your way to use it and it will be the only wager you place in that casino, otherwise I think they are always useful.
