mailed to local newspapers across America. Newspapers are always looking for extra items to fill in areas of their newspapers. Since gambling is of interest to everyone, a copy of this article along with an explanation of how Las Vegas will do anyhting to throw out winners (Losers only may play) may receive great interest. EMBARASSING the casinos into fair play may be our best bet as a high stakes player in Las Vegas is often treated like a criminal.
I think Richard Dougherty should be the one suing, not Mandalay Bay. Otherwise MB will continue its harrassments to deter other AP players from playing. After all, who wants to go through that ordeal? I wish Bob Nersessian will counsel his client to file a civil liberties suit against MB, and we should all chip in to help, because it could happen to any of us. I think MB emerged as a winner on this one: they got what they wanted: intimidation of other players. They knew he was coming for his comped dinner and staged the whole thing. Will any of you dare to play there now?
I hope that Stanford Wong will stick his neck out to organize this board into a cohesive group that the casinos will fear from legal actions. We are a disorganized group and have no mechanism to help each other. Of course anonymity will need to be preserved, and that is the challenge.
I decided after the first reports of these beatings that I would not play at MB. They offer inferior games, and anyone (AP or not) would be a fool to go there without an armed bodyguard who was ready and willing to start shooting in your defense. I have shared these feelings with family members and co-workers who initially did not believe that a modern day casino would behave as if they were still owned by the mob. After showing them the news stories, they changed their minds. I personally have convinced 5 non-APs to change their travel plans in the last 3 months and stay at places other than MB affiliated properties. This is the best avenue of attack, IMHO.
Just make sure that everyone you know understands that gambling in one of these casinos is equivalent to gambling in a mob run casino in a third world country where you have no legal protections, whatsoever. Most non-AP's do not understand the finer points of card counting and when you explain that their bets could be mistaken for a card counters, and that they could then be beaten and end up in the hospital, this is usually pretty effective.
If these casino's want to intimidate AP's then our job is to make sure that this intimidation spreads to as many non-AP's as possible.
Look Uston won in New Jersey and he was (as the cospiracy theory leads us to believe taken out of action)found dead in Paris right before his Nevada case. Now this case was won in favor of the defendant. The defendant has a open wide door for a huge Law suit/settlement by Mandalay Bay Inc,the city of Las Vegas and Metro PD. Each of the security guards and the cop who arrested him are also LIABLE. Rememebr Rodney King each cop was criminally and civilly charged. They will never be cops again and they suffered in jail and were sued! This is a great win for the advantage world. Dont be ngative on this. This could burn down the forest. USton is smiling in the BIG CASINO IN THE SKY! So casino BOYS; red bored for example explain this one???
The only fear I have is if the Casinos make the game unplayable to wit: 6/5 payoffs, half shoing, shuffle ups and extreme paranoia. ETC>>>
... was this: ""The videotape was critical because without it there would have been three people swearing what never occurred did occur," Nersesian said."
Serious question: Can anyone doubt these people would cheat to increase their advantage at any of the table games?
Three employees, willing to lie under oath after illegally brutalizing a man for the sin of THINKING in a casino. I believe most of us find out at some point in our lives that we're corruptible, and that each individuals reaction to that bitter lesson plays a major role in determining whether he leaves this place better than he found it. These three people decided to dig in. And for what? To keep a job where they feel feel obliged to rough up innocent people.
I'm glad I'm on this side of the table.

Nersessian has handled about 40 such cases, including one for me. It seems to be the same few casinos who are always involved with Mandalay Bay being among the worst. My case was not against MB, but MB did illegally charge my credit card for $1200 of complimentaries when I had an upfront RFB and I was backed off on the morning I was scheduled to check out after a three day trip. Mandalay Bay is a very poor sport and will be paying out far more in legal expenses and judgements than they can ever hope to save with their childish behavior.
The casinos have done this plenty. The MB case is just the latest. They sweat the action as if losing a few bucks will hurt the bottom line. I don't care how big the counter is at a Strip casino, his measly 1 percent edge isn't going to overcome all the Megabucks players. The courts should arrest the vermin who perjured themselves during the trial and send them to jail where they belong.
