Question about the spreadsheet + interesting observation
Downloaded the spreadsheet. Could someone tell me how or why a side count affects the numbers differently than just subtracting the number from the main count?
Also, I entered the hi-low numbers in the spreadsheet. The efficiencies match the numbers on this site:
http://www.bjmath.com/bjmath/counting/OSRating.htm
BC 0.9681750
PC 0.8286295
PE 0.5111109
IC 0.7601169
What I thought was interesting was how the overall numbers went *up* if I simply changed the tag value of 7 from a zero to a one. Doing this generates these scores:
BC 0.9769474
PC 0.8682612
PE 0.5527617
IC 0.7832359
KO players might find these tags familiar too. Is that what KO is - the hi-low count with one tag value changed?
So it goes from balanced to unbalanced count. Should that make a difference? Seems like hi-low users who don't use indices would be better off using this. Of course if you do use indices it probably messes with the numbers. How would someone calculate the correct indices for this new setting (i.e. take insurance at +4 vs. +3)?
Thoughts?
