lawsuits in Mississippi

There was a very interesting segment on 60 MInutes tonight called Jackpot Justice. MS has become the lawsuit capitol of the US and the poor rural juries are giving HUGE awards, mostly in drug cases like Phen Phen. The population of trial lawyers is exploding there.

This is where people should be suing casinos. This would also be the place to sue Griffin and Biometrica since there is a lot of nasty stuff happening expecially in Tunica, and many Griffin fliers seem to be eminating from Tunica as well. With so many lawyers there they must be looking for more companies to sue.

So, if you have a nasty barring in MS I would look around and talk to some lawyers. In Vegas they yawn and say, "Ah, no damages." In MS they may see $ signs. I also think that when you sue, you should include the shift boss personally in the lawsuit as well as security guards. When these people start being named in lawsuits they may start treating players more civilly. Who knows, maybe you can even include the surveillence people.

The laws are different everywhere. Most of these people were VP players. Looks like they got tired of feeding them for free and turf'dem.

The most absurd comment in the article is from Greektown spokesman Roger Martin.

"We love winners, and this decision preserves the maximum opportunity to win for our other 4.3 million guests"

What an idiotic statement. Once some of the "other 4.3 million guests" become winners, they, too, will be escorted out by security thugs.

greektown lags far behind the other casinos in detroit in revenue, this will only make matters worse

they have also barred a number of skilled bj players and i would not doubt some craps players have been shown the door

Griffin, CVI, iView, and a number of casinos are routinely libeling players and violating federal privacy laws.

With the number of determined players who've filed lawsuits on these issues growing, I see real potential for forcing change and extracting penalties.

the contributing photographer is also at fault. Casinos who distribute photos of players without consent are breaking the law. There will eventually be big damages. Big corporations are playing with dynamite by participating in these silly little distribution circles. Naming the big casinos in suits against Griffin & Biometrica will help drive the point home, and will be more likely to result in big awards. The casinos are the guys with the money.

I'm one of the BJ players they booted back in 2003. This was my own faut playing 5-6 hours a night spreading $10-$80 and ;eaving with $400+ a night. Just give it a few months and go back. Also helped me by befriending some of the dealers that go to Motorcity to play poker. Haven't had any heat since.
