I will be heading for LV in mid Jan. I currently play KO and have altered my IRC to +6,the key to +22 and the pivot to +30. I have done this to avoid keeping track of negative numbers. As I understand it, a 2D game is generally more productive. If you play DD could you give me suggestions as to what you have altered your IRC,Key,and Pivot to, to avoid negative numbers so I can start praciticing now. Any other suggestions as to where to play etc. will be welcome.Thanks
When I was using KO, I used 0 for the IRC for any number of decks, just because it seemed natural. The occasional negative numbers didn't bother me. For double deck, with a 0 IRC, the key count is +5 and the pivot is +8.
Since you are used to a pivot of +30, you could use that for DD. Just use +22 for the IRC and +27 for the key count. As long as you use (IRC+5) for the key and (IRC+8) for the pivot, you can use anything you want for the IRC for double deck.
Insurance is always taken at/above the pivot -1.
Good DD games can be found at the north strip casinos, although these are usually $25 min or higher. For good $5 DD try the various Station casinos around town. Be prepared to shop around for good pen.
