I just got his book. He states that he made big buck playing BJ. He goes on to state that he made a million dollars over twenty years. That is only 50k per year that is far from big bucks. I must be missing something? I enjoyed his book so much that I couldn't put it down. The title if anyone wants to know is PLAY BLACKJACK LIKE A PRO.
It is a very good book. But is that all a AP can make? Lets face it the games are far worse now than they were when he started.

My annual earnings (when annualized) mirrors what K. Blackwood stated.

The original poster is just very naive, and has been willing to believe that 6 figure annual earnings are possible.

Watching dumb-ass movies and reading absurd fictionalized books that romanticize card counting with hyperbole will do that to those who are gullible.

I maybe naive because I have read alot of books .All of which say count cards earn big bucks. I am beginning to see that there is a lot of BS in BJ. I guess it could be their definition of big bucks and my vary. Thanks for your help.

So what are you saying, Flash, good professional players don't earn 6 figures?? I find that hard to believe. I am only a mid level player, strictly employing straight counting methods, and while, I have yet to earn six figures, I am reasonably close. More than midway between 50K and 100K for the last several years, and I play what most consider, very mediocre games. I am sure most professionals, seeking out better games would make 6 figures. Mr Blackwood, specifically stated that he traveled a lot, seeking out only the best games, and the best games early in his career were far better than the best games today. I don't know what Mr Blackwood made throughout his career, but I would imagine a million was low balling it. Did he state OVER a million. That leaves a lot of leeway.

Absolutely nobody knows for sure, but with the exodus of the best BJ players to the world of Poker, there are certainly a lot less than 200 Pro players.

I am guessing that there are perhaps ten, at most, who have had back to back years of earning 6 figures. Perhaps � of that.

Kewl Jason plays almost daily, so he is doing very well, and I am glad for him, and I hope that he does not hit some bad variance and dump back a significant portion of his earnings, although such is always lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce.

Most people are influenced by the exaggerations in movies, books, and on-line lies.

Anyone looking for quick cash will be very disappointed.

He did. But I would have thought if he had earned over 2 million he would have said that. If he had it would be 100k per year.
It sounds like you are doing very well. I hope that continues for you. But more importantly I hope it starts for me.

I know at least one pro who has been full time for 10 years and made over $3,000,000.

I know one player who has made six figures each year for the last 20 years and that is with top bets usually less than two hands of $500.

It's not easy...but it's a lot easier if you travel a whole lot.

I wish you knew of more such players. Poor little stupid casinos - imagine how much harm they cause themselves with their paranoia.

Imagine the numbers that are given to the casino managers from CSMs seller's to back up their shitty machines... Lies, lies and more lies regarding how much counters are winning. Casino operators and managers who are suppose to be "educated" people are dumb enough to believe anything.
