Inverse Counting

Does anyone else count cards opposite of the "standard"? I.E. Tens are +1 and 2-6 are -1.
When I first started counting I found this method to be much easier. It just makes more sense to my brain that a high card would be a positive and a low card would be a negative. Of course I then have to think that a negative count is good and a positive count is bad but that is a whole lot easier for me than looking right at a ten card and trying to think of it as having a negative value. I also have to take indices and reverse them but that's easy too.
Anyway, I was just wondering if I'm the only one doing this.

And that you're trying to rid of them. That way you'll bet more on a negative count. :o)

I do the same thing and have been doing so for over ten years and for the same reason. I have never tried to change as I think it would lead to problems for a while.

I could not resist the cheap shot humor though.

maybe it is you who I have heard doing this.

Eliminates a great deal of "Mi" talk.

If you wish to be a little more efficient, you could count in Japanese as well.

I do not know if people understand what your saying. To me it sounds like your redefining your math in a way that makes it user friendly to your mind set. As long as you remember everything is reversed you may not have a problem. It would only cause me confusion. I could not inverse count and maintain my drinking vice.

I too do this, and have been doing so for many years.

It just seems so logical, a ten appears on the felt, add one. (its a high card).

a 6 hits the felt, minus one. (its a low card).

I dont know how people can do it the other way?

It is a pain converting all the tables though, but u get used to it.

I am also left-handed, so i wonder if there is a connection?

In my mentality the minus for tens is because it is poor for me a negative situation when played. In your mind set the ten stayed in the deck it is good for your situation (a positive situation). But I do not know how it could be easier to count because the shoes swing on there own. Either way you will have to add and subtract numbers continually.
