How much advance do player need?

I have been playing BJ for quite sometime with KO and doing OK.
All I know is whatever in KO book but not any details.

How much do player need to know or learn?
Do we all need to know how to calculate risk of ruin,standard deviation,bankroll requirement,learn to sim & etc.

Can I just study KO system as available in the book, get good at it & go play?

I don't think you ever learn it all! Blackjack is kinda like life in that respect.

Well, considering to play "perfect" bj one only has to know exactly how much to bet each hand(ROR) and how to play each hand, + BS, it doesn't seem like much. But remember, you have to know all this "perfectly" if you want to play well.So you gotta review and relearn and revise and read lots of books and get lots of experience and be able to make fast yet accurate decisions.

if you are interested in playing for stakes above what can easily be afforded by your outside income. If your normal session stake is nothing more than you would normally budget for weekend entertainment then you don't need to worry about those things at all. Many of us have max bets that are larger than our average weekly income. If you are in that catagory then you better learn about the risk equations.
The main point is to be able to stay in action. To be able to go to the casino and play when you want to. Has this been a problem for you? If not, don't worry about it.
