Aside from SOTSOG's brief post, I haven't seen any reaction to Harrah's purchase of Jack Binion's Horsehoe Casinos in Tunica MS, northwest Indiana and Shreveport. I for one am extremely disappointed, as the Tunica 'Shoe was the best casino in town, period. I'm not a huge fan of Harrah's, though I have seen much worse in a casino, and I must admit they've treated me well for video poker play and the limited table games play I've given them.
If Harrah's maintains Binion's operating philosophy--in other words, they keep running it the way it is now--then that's fine. It'll actually be a good thing, as they'll be a part of the Harrah's nationwide points system. But I'm betting they won't. I know the Shoe's current slot players won't like not being able to get immediate cash-back or comps. I also stringly doubt that all those nice SD and DD games will stay around.
Comments, anyone?
