Ahh... revised response for KO
JACKS&ACES,
Sorry about the confusing abbreviations! "Rat." just means "rational", which means that the bets are what some (or at least Norm W.) would consider to be "normal" bet sizes... in other words, betting $52 is a lot more unusual at the BJ table than is betting $50. "SD/hr" stands for "Standard Deviation per hour", where "per hour" in CVCX generally means "per 100 rounds", since the default setting is 100 rounds per hour. The Standard Deviation is a measure of how "volatile" the game is. You can think of this as representing how big the "swings" in your result may be. Approximately two-thirds of the time, after one hour of play your actual result will fall within one Standard Deviation of the Expected Value. For instance, in my previous post when I wrote:
The "Opt." schedule has an average bet of $16.12, an IBA of 1.540%, a Win/Hr of $24.83, with a SD/Hr of $314.65
This means that after one hour of play, you'd expect to win $24.83, since that's the average win rate. The SD/Hr is $314.65, so approximately two-thirds of the time your ACTUAL result will be between $24.83 - $314.65 = -$289.82 and $24.83 + $314.65 = +$339.48. Nobody ever said that playing winning BJ is a smooth ride ;-)
I reran CVCX for a KO counter and developed the following two bets schedules: the "optimum" and the "rational". Since you indicated that you'd be willing to accept a higher Risk of Ruin, I expanded the spread to a more "Dog Hand"-like 1:30 (actually, that's the spread I use for DD... heh heh heh!), which produced a somewhat higher RoR but also a much higher win rate.
RC Opt Rat
<-1 $5 $5
-1 $14 $10
0 $25 $25
+1 $38 $25
+2 $52 $50
+3 $66 $50
+4 $80 $75
+5 $97 $100
+6 $114 $100
+7 $129 $125
+8 $148 $150
>8 $150 $150
.
The "Opt." schedule has an average bet of $20.69, an IBA of 1.914%, a Win/Hr of $39.60, with a SD/Hr of $464.48, and a c-SCORE of 72.67. With a $5K BR, your RoR is 15.9%.
The "Rat." schedule has an average bet of $19.37, an IBA of 1.948%, a Win/Hr of $37.73, with a SD/Hr of $444.44, and a c-SCORE of 72.07. With a $5K BR, your RoR is 14.7%.
If you play for 5 hours using the "Rational" schedule, your expected win is $189. Two-thirds of the time your actual result will fall between -$774 and +$1,152; 99.7% of the time, between -$2,761 and +$3,139. You have a 37.69% chance of winning $1,000 or more, and an 11.58% chance of losing $1,000 or more.
Hope this helps!
