Hard Rock in Tampa

Just got a call from a friend at the Hard Rock in Tampa . He says the table games are all set up in a roped off area on the main floor and another room ( I think he said ) . He was there less than 2 weeks ago and no table games were in sight .

Just returned from Biloxi last Thursday and once again was told that many dealers had relocated to Tampa . Also just got an IM from a 3 card poker player who goes on the casino boat out of Port Richey ( west of Tampa ) every Wednesday and she said they were short-handed yesterday because dealers had left to work in Tampa .
BIG QUESTION ??, are the Seminoles going to open table games in Tampa in defiance of the FL Supreme Court or is there some back-room negotions going on ? The state of FL has 100's of millions to lose if they are shut down .

The way I understand it, the State cannot shut them down. The Florida Supreme Court Decision rendering the Governor's Compact illegal was filed only against Charlie Crist and has no direct effect on the Seminoles. At last word, only the "Bureau of Indian affairs" can legally shut them down. Time will tell if things get interpreted differently or if the "Bureau" will act one way or the other. In the meantime look for the very real possibility of the Seminoles opening the tables. The final resolution could be the opening of table games in Broward County to level the playing field.

Do you mean table games in casinos other than tribal casinos?

The attorney general of FL has in fact asked the U S department of interior ,of which the bureau of indian affairs is under to shut down the games in Hollywood . Whether this was a sincere effort or not on his part ,I don't know , because the state of FL certainly needs the money ( doesn't everybody ) the Seminoles have given them . Gov Christ signed the compact last Nov 14 ,maybe that would be a good day to open up . I remember the date because it fell on my birthday .
As you said time will tell.
