"Hail Mary" Bank Roll

The game I am going to be playing is four deck shoe with -.48 at the shuffle. My session bank roll is going to be $1000.00 ($1500.00) how ever I am planing on using $500 of that for Hold'em poker, unless there is no favorable games. I forget how to figuer out risk of ruin. I am planing on playing BJ as if my bank roll was $3000.00, is this a huge mistake? I can live with beening tapped out, I just don't have $3000.00 at this time to play with, but can rebuild the bank rolli if need be.

The second plan has positive ev but I think you are waiting too long to push the money out. I think something like: $10, $25, 2@$25, 2@$50, and then maxing at about 2@$75 @+4. We are talking about a Hail Mary bankroll. You want to play a strong game while accepting a good chance of tapping out in your first couple of sessions. If you make it through a few hundred hours of play at this level then you could possibly have a bankroll that could afford these bet sizes.

Few hundred hours? It's just a couple days I plan on playing Maybe 4-8 hours of BJ and if there's a good Hold'em game see how I can do at a 3-6 or 5-10 table.

I only plan on playing 2 hands if there's others at the table. Heads up I'll stick with one spot.

If your goal is simply to make as much as possible on one trip and leave nothing for the future then you should bet half of your total money every time you have the edge until you reach the table max. You will usually go broke with this plan but it will maximize your expected return.

When I say a few hundred hours, I'm talking about many trips. Your initial trips you have a big risk of ruin. If you survive then you have a smaller risk of ruin on your next trip, etc.

I agree with Odaat that two spots always is best for several reasons. One is card eating, another is cover, and another is so that somebody does not take your second spot while you are not playing it.

Ok. I'm not sure where you got your info but it looks wrong to me. I'm going to be honest with you. I want you to kill the casino. Whenever I sit down, I try to kill the casino and that is the attitude that I sit down with. If I had $1000 dollars and didn't care if I lost it, here is what I would do.

Oh wait. You only have $500 if you are using the other $500 for hold 'em. I'd skip the hold 'em unless you feel you are a top notch player.

Understand that I'm practically throwing ROR out the window. Many people feel that two hands will help you. Many ploppies indeed think that. I play one hand always unless there is a maximum bet restriction and I do quite well.

I'll assume your playing Hi-Lo. 4 decks with a -.48 is kind of bad so I would suggest a rather aggressive spread.

That is a 1 - 12 spread. You kind of need a 1 - 12 spread to beat a game like that if you ask me. If you can find a $5 table, just divide all of the bets by 2.

If you like being extremely risky, a 1 - 16 would probably be better.

It seems scarey at first and when I first started as a counter, I was scared to put the money on the table but I remind myself that I am putting my money into advantageous situations. For H17 games, you really need to get your money out there early. I calculate my spreads from CVCX. This spread was calculated from a H17 6 deck DAS which is a little worse of a game than yours. If you want to give me the exact game conditions, I could calculate an exact optimal spread for you.
