The BS maker on WizardofOdds.com and the SD BS in Carlson's BJFB differ from CVBJ on the play of H9 vs 2. Could someone shed some light on the scenario?
Game:
SD, H17, RSA
This hand is a hit at a hi-low index less than +1, double if +1 or greater. I would not be surprised if single deck basic strategy labels this play as a double. This would be because the cards that compose the hard nine must consist of at least one low card (7,2) the other two hands (5,4 and 6,3) consist of two low cards.
I went to wiz of odds, the 1 deck B.S. indicated a double for this play, what do the other two sources say?
The absence of two small cards (or one neutral card and one low card) also increases the likelihood that the dealer will complement his deuce with two high cards. If one of those cards happens to be an eight or a nine, chances are the player is screwed.
CVBJ contains two Basic Strategies. Composite is a compromise strategy that does not differentiate between number of decks. Complete BS says to Double for these rules.
