Games in Lake Charles LA......

Can anyone tell me where theres a good game in Lake Charles? Its the closest venue to my home of (more or less) Houston TX. Here below is a list of casinos if anyone has a comment; for better or worse. I know I could call'em all but they will just say their's is the best house....

If you're looking to play BJ, you have three choices in the Lake Charles Area:

Isle of Capri (Westlake, take I-10 east to exit #27, which is just before you go over the high bridge over the Calcasieu River). IoC has pitch DD blackjack ($25 min, S17, DA2, DAS, 2-3 tables), 6D shoes (same rules, mins as low as $5, about 15 tables), and single deck crapjack (6:5 on BJ... who cares about the other rules). The pen ranges from crappy (50% on DD, 70% on 6D) to really crappy (40% on DD, 60% on 6D).

L'auberge du Lac (take I-10 to the I-210 Loop (exit 23 from the west) to Exit #4 (if I recall correctly)). They have DD (S17, DA2, DAS, RSA, $15 & up on mins, several tables) and 6D (same rules, mins down to $10). Here, the pen is marginally better than at IoC... the last time I visited, I saw about 60% on DD (but you have to "shop around") and 75% on 6D.

Coushatta Casino Resort (Kinder, take I-10 east to Exit 44 (U.S. 165), then go north on 165 about 15-20 miles, the casino is just north of Kinder). Same comments as for LdL, except that many of the DD dealers give only 50% pen.

All of the other places you mentioned simply have really, REALLY bad video poker... they have no table games whatsoever.

Many better games are available in Louisiana. May I suggest you purchase a copy of Current Blackjack News, which you can order and receive through this very website? I've provided a handy link below. It provides information about all 15 casinos offering BJ in Louisiana, as well as throughout the U.S.

are simply truck stops with 25 to 50 Video Poker Machines all with an average payback of 88% to 92%.

There are only three real casinos in the Lake Charles area (see Dog Hand's post for directions)

Isle of Capri...very good near 100% VP, very bad blackjack, good mail offers

L'Auberge du Lac...good near 100% VP, mediocre but somewhat variable double deck BJ, unplayable shoes, good mail offers.

Coushatta Resort...mediocre VP, No 6% state withholding tax (Indian Casino), mediocre double deck, mostly unplayable shoes with a few exceptions OK mail offers.
