If I was just trying to rip off the masses, I would advertise differently and wouldn't mention that a 6 or 7 figure BR was needed.
I haven't been to any good promos recently, but if I was to show up all the regulars from Wong's promo fax list from the mid-90s would recognize me. I haven't had a non-gambling job since '95.
A true scam would have a lower BR requirement to hook all the minnows and wouldn't be on games where 100+% (sometimes) payback could be confirmed mathematically by the potential purchaser.
