PLOPPY TERMINOLOGY
The longer they play the longer they lose
GOOD LUXOR!
*Note This is meant to be light-hearted and out of fun and laughter. Any offense of any nature, nationality, or ploppy is unintentional and based solely on specific gathered experience
Ploppy A term coined by gambling author Frank Scoblete to describe a typical uninformed gambler. This average Joe or Jane blackjack player may or may not know basic strategy but by no means is an advantage player or counter.
Junior Ploppy A first time ploppy oblivious to the wrath as a ploppy he/she is about to endure
Senior Ploppy -- A well seasoned ploppy who over the course of his/her losing years either still has yet to learn full basic strategy, let alone advantaged play, just 'there to have some fun' but exhibits uncontrolled rage spitting out obscenities while consistently on the long run losing end, never seeming to understand why.
Floppy Ploppy An overweight ploppy or a ploppy with severely noticeable undistributed weight
Sloppy Ploppy An unkempt ploppy with bad clothing choices, often with apparent stains of food and dirt
Moppy Ploppy A ploppy donning a messy hair-do. This is a ploppy who can drop $100 on a blackjack hand but cannot afford a comb to tame his/her hair
Flip Flop Plop Any ploppy wearing flip flops and whose feet should most likely be covered. This does not necessarily include summertime only
Lucky Ploppy A ploppy who just cant seem to lose and is particularly frustrating when they catch the cards in a positive count situation while youre not. As you're forced to look upon their joy and high-fives winning BJs on their $10 bets against your $500, you also have to listen to how they won off their skill playing the game, in actuality not having a clue as to the real reason they are winning.
Pushy Ploppy A ploppy overly enthused to share their blackjack knowledge, theories, and secrets they stand behind 110% whether you asked for it or want to hear it or not. They give unwelcomed advice that when either happens to be acted on or not receives an 'I told you so'. Obviously 99% of the cases you try to block the gibberish unless youre in the mood for a good chuckle.
Overly Talky Ploppy One who unintentionally exposes your card counting by loudly announcing such comments as, Wow you sure increase your bet at the right time after hitting blackjacks or winning hands or, Why is it you go from $5 to $100 every hand or so? These ploppies base their theories on the notion that after hitting a blackjack one should increase their bet since the cards are now lucky and will boldly ask why you dont do the same. Dealers are also often overly talky ploppies who can expose you.
Haughty Ploppy A ploppy overly convinced of his/her superiority and importance in the game of blackjack. There is no way no how you or anyone else, expert or not, will change this stubborn ploppys mind about his/her omnipotence and experience. And be certain that you will hear all about it while trying to play the game minding your own business as they mind your business for you.
Naughty Ploppy A ploppy misbehaving in a troublesome way, of course somehow effecting you negatively when minding your own business. For example take the ploppy who tries blackmailing you to borrow money he will pay you right back after going to the ATM. This is usually a casino regular scamming ploppy who is experienced in recognizing card counters and will intentionally exploit you if you dont meet his/her demands. Too often youre the one that must unfairly leave the situation.
Jalopy Ploppy All of the above; meets full requirements and criteria of a ploppy. Everyone has crossed paths with a jalopy ploppy at some point in a casino. For example consider the guy who wears bottle cap glasses, is heavily tattooed, has a beard down to his mid chest, a cowboy hat that could knock a person down walking by, a fringe leather coat that should be left in the 80s, and a hairy belly that hangs to his knees flashed in your face because he believes he can still fit into the colorful hawaiin shirt he wore in high school. This ploppy can also fall under the categories of being overly talky, haughty, and naughty. Ah yes, now you understand the ultimate jalopy ploppy.
Ploppy of the day The ultimate jalopy ploppy spotted in public proudly strutting his/her stuff on a particular day. Under certain conditions there are several jalopy ploppies of the day depending on date, time and casino location. This title is considered a ploppy honor and should only be reserved for ploppies that meet all ploppy criteria for the day.
Ploppy In-Ploppy Win Self-explanatory and usually very discouraging and interrupting to the counter whether during a plus or negative count but particularly in a positive situation by hogging the high cards unnecessarily; ploppies that enter in high count situations often and win often believe it is their basic strategy skills and luck of the day
Ploppy In-Ploppy Out Ploppies coming and going who are often extremely distracting and annoying. These individuals are also referred to as Hoppy ploppies since they hop from table to table.
Snipers Ploppies that force their way into a table without asking, play one or a few hands until their scarce money runs out considering it to be a lucky table; usually they are there for the kill without any consideration of other players; usually they dont speak a word and can go unnoticed until you see that extra hand missing or being played; whether a lucky or unlucky table they are in search of constant wins trying out all tables possible (often of Asian descent). Snipers can also fall under the category of Hoppy ploppies .
Drive-Bys Ploppies that are a little more methodical with more money, hang around and play until they lose what money they come to the table with; they need more precision to hang around often again based on their basic strategy expertise and luck; these ploppies will still leave after winning a certain amount if not out of money to hit another table (often of Asian descent)
Pilfering Ploppy Snipers and Drive-Bys often fall into this category too. Pilfering ploppies such as snipers and drive-bys jump in and steal high cards in a positive count because they see the table winning and consider it lucky. Once the situation turns as we know in a negative count they move on to the next lucky table to steal cards again. Only we know why theyre truly winning and often they will also get the blackjacks while we pull the unlikely 12s-16s.
NFOs Follow-up to Snipers and Drive-Bys; No Fucking Orientals! This definition was taken from Regina Guzior, advantage and tournament blackjack player.
