free run on New Years Eve?

I have heard that on New Year's Eve counters get left alone because casinos are too busy to keep track and there's plenty of ploppies out there. Is it possible to spread like a madman and camp out at tables, or should I still take regular precautions

Also I got a 24 hour ban from my home casino Tampa Hard Rock, gave them my ID because I was a newb and it was my first time. Should I not go back there or am I fine tonight(and in the future for short unrated sessions) so long as I don't give them my players card

I was banned from my local store for 72 hours last year.

I assumed it was lifetime but called them back the next day and was told 24 hours. Went there to play a poker tournament today which requires a players card to register and no problems. I didn't try to play blackjack

Some of us are not familiar with a 24 hour or 72 hour ban. If someone at the casino has made the determination that they don't want your play seems odd to ban you for 24 hours. You would think at that point they would just ban you. ?? But I guess it is a warning shot. Just like in Vegas, why do they back you off? Sometimes time after time before banning you? If someone has made the determination that they don't want your play, why not just ban you immediately?

I agree with other posters. I live close to Tampa HR, but drive/fly to MS. Is there a bj game you were banned for 24 hours on??

On another note have they lowered their minimum bet on bac from $25 yet?

most of their games are CSM and but they have a shoe section 6 deck cutting off less than a deck at times! and a high roller section with shoe games where I played before when I was not an AP. I made a lot of newb mistakes, but prob in the end it was for staying for 4 or 5 hours that got me as I was stuck about 3500 from running bad in good shoes. I assumed it was lifetime, maybe they reevaluated my play and it wasn't that good..maybe I was drinking enough where they figured I could fuck up in the future...not sure

Soft barrings(which is not exactly what you describe)usually occur because management is trying to make an accurate determination about a player's abilities. They are generally a prelude to permanent barring. I've experienced it plenty of times. But your scenario sounds more punitive in nature. Something akin to speeding in a school zone or urinating in public. Obviously, you did something they did not fancy.

so I'm definitely gonna have to go back before I go to Mississippi for poker in a week. Here are the options I'm thinking of:

1. Play for an hour or so of non AP action while rated, then start counting, spread pretty big and get out after first shoe where I bet max

2. Play rated but spread a little smaller, say 25(their min) to 200 or maybe even less in 6 deck and try to be friendly drink etc. so they put me down as not worth booting for life

3. Play unrated but otherwise same as 2

4. Just go for the unrated hit and run no cover or anything.

I don't mind too much if I lose this one, as I'm gonna be on the road for poker a lot anyway to get my counting fix. I am interested in juicy cash games if the 100 max get raised in poker but theres some dog tracks which also have poker nearby so I won't be missing out on poker action later on if I get full 86

They may have changed since I was there in Nov (only to use my $75 FP on VP for my birthday ) but their shoe games were 8 decks and auto shuffle . The 6 deck in high limit area were hand shuffle . Don't know that I saw less than 1.5- 2 cut off on the 8 deck . Also sometime between early spring and Nov they changed to H17 ( not in high limit area ? )
Still play on the "barge "locally , but haven't been in a month . Their limits and rules suit me better than the HR . Last year they had great promos in Dec ,hope I didn't miss out . Trips to MS are not frequent enough and more stores up there are changing to H17.

despite playing a poker tournament the day before...I was kicked out. I put my name on the 5/10 list but got the itch. Decided to try to give them some square action betting 50 a hand at the shuffle machines since it was right next to the poker room but my card got denied and they gave me my 500 buyin back. I later see the guy who 86ed me and he told me it was perma ban and if I came back again I would be in trouble

I was barred from BJ there a few months ago after many wonging sessions where I lost consistently and for large amounts as I was betting black.

I played anon for months and they still 86'd me after about three rounds when I wonged into a game in the HL room.

You will have to stay away for a long time to give them time to forget you. When you do return you need to play anon and if you see the guy that 86'd you you need to get out before he makes you.

Try the Sun Cruz. They generally have a shitty game but they had great promotions this time last year.

...Whoever invented that for casino use is an as*hole. He should be fired by the casino manage. On second thought, the casino manage is probably another as*hole.
