I play here in Venezuela in a casino with six decks and good rules.Whenever i have and ace and the dealer has one, he always ask if i want it paid simple, not 1 1/2.What are the ods for me staying to the end and collecting my 1 1/2 pay with this situation.I always ask for my simple pay ,not taking a chance for him having too a blackie..is that a good play....Thanks
Unless you are counting cards you should never take insurance (even money on Blackjack).
There are 16 ten value cards per deck X 6 decks = 96 total tens
36 non tens (A thru 9) per deck X 6 decks = 216
216 non tens divided by 96 tens = odds of 2.25 to one, or put another way as DD' stated, 9 to 4 of receiving a 1.5 payoff for your blackjack which is exactly why you don't take insurance/even money unless you have a TC of +3.
Hope this clears any confusion you may have had.
After deducting your cards and the dealer's upcard there are 309 cards left in the shoe. 95 of these are tens, 214 are others. 214*1.5=321
Conclusion: after 309 times not taking even money you will have saved 12 units (321-309),assuming you're not giving any tips on Blackjacks!

The odds are (roughly) 9:4 AGAINST your getting paid 3:2.

No, there are nine cases where the dealer will have a non-ten value card: A,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. If any of these are the dealer's hole card you will be paid 3:2.
There are four cases where the dealer will have a ten value card: T,J,Q,K. In these four cases you will not get paid 3:2 but will have your bj push with the dealer.
So it is 9:4 IN FAVOR of your getting paid 3:2 if you don't take even money.
I was thinking of the odds on the insurance bet itself: 9:4 against being paid 2:1.
