The August edition of CBJN says that the Reno Silver Legacy offers a 6 deck game with an EV of -0.39 in which you can double on any 2 or more cards. Is the basic strategy for this game the same as for a more typical 6D-H17 game? If not, where can I find the proper strategy?
Kid, For all practical purposes you should double according to BS regardless of the number of cards in your hand. If anything doubling a hand with more than two cards should give the double down a better chance of winning. This would result from one or more additional small cards being played to create the hand in the first place. Hit 'em hard. The Side
For instance, say you have A2 v 6 in a H17 game? Instead of doubling, why not take a free shot at getting a pat hand? You'll either get a 20 or 21 (2/13), or a stiff (5/13), or get a chance to double again if you wind up with soft 14-19 (6/13).
I could be mistaken here, but it makes sense to me.
Likewise, if you get hard 8 v 6 at the appropriate TC, and you hit instead of doubling, if you get an A, 2 or 3, you get a much better double.
Again, I could be wrong.
