I plan to stay at Sam's Town and also want to play at other casinos. It seems that there are totally 9 casinos in Robinsonville. Do I need a rental car if I want to play in most of them?

The casinos are spreadout...(about 6 miles separates Sam's Town and Horseshoe and others)
It would be best to have your own transportation; however, there are shuttles that go around from one to the other...timing probably will never be when you want to go, though...(just seems that way to me)
Suppose I do take a shuttle from Sam's Town to other casinos. Are there 3 or 4 within walking distance from each other so that I needn't take a shuttle again?
If you are a serious player, you will need to move frequently, and you can't walk.

That`s the way to go. If you plan to move from casino to casono every hour or so, the shuttle will take too much of your precious time. Calculate the rate for a rental car and compare it to your hourly EV and you`ll find it`s a no brainer.
There is a value to knowing you can move when you want to move. You cannot however walk to any casinos not in your immediate cluster of casinos. Waiting for a shuttle is an absolute drag and waste of precious time. Remember, the shuttle will more than likely not be going exactly where you want to go, you may have to endure a trip to other places and have to figure out the "new" schedule from the next casino within which you next find yourself.
Get the cheapest car you can find and have the freedom of instant mobility.
This link will provide a wealth of Tunica info, print the map of the casino area and take it with you. It gets pretty dark out in those old cotton fields, and it's easy to miss turns like going from Gold Strike to Hollywood. Make note of the shorter drives between certain casinos as oppossed to having to drive out to Hwy 61 each time you move to another cluster. Avoid hwy 61 as best you can at night, there have been numerous accidents, take the short cuts.

if you plan on visiting all 9 ... get a car
the best sd is at goldstrike and horseshoe...if you only end up playing at those 2 you dont need a car...

cars have always been hertz anyway....i have gotten them for 13.00
per day...but prices seem to flucuate drastically
i get limo ride via goldstrike to tunica town when i am opting not to get a car...i do not know what transportation would cost from airport to tunica....
If you're staying at Sam's, the only way you can avoid using a car is if you restrict yourself to Sam's Harrah's and Hollywood only, and even then it's a healthy hike across two parking lots between Sam's and the other two. Besides, I wouldn't recommend this for purely blackjack reasons--the best games are elsewhere.
There used to be a "Tunica Trolley" that circulated between the casinos, but I rarely saw it last trip there, and its web site no longer lists fares or schedules. I'm guessing it went bye-bye, so a rental car will be a necessity.
If you go to the Horseshoe, Gold Strike and Sheraton are next door...The Grand, Bally's and Fitzgerald's are by their lonesome, though...
Hollywood, Sam's Town and Harrah's can be gotten to by foot as they are together.
