Dice dilemma update

Many comments were made recently about the dice setting issue. My main concern was that the Nevada Statute on cheating clearly includes interfering with outcomes. Since the first offense penalty in Nevada is a felony and jail time (plus massive legal fees), I decided to wait until we get some definitive answer from the the Gaming Commission or the courts. Neither has happened yet.

Yesterday afternoon I played 21 in Downtown LV and noticed that the Fremont is holding a "Sharpshooter's Rollout" tournament. What can this mean in the context of dice setting? No word is mentioned about craps and the implication is that this is a contest on who can roll the best dice. Also, since this tournament play against other players, nobody is cheating the casino (if this is even applicable). This only further confuses the issue.

Could someone please update me on this new dice dilemma? I did not know that Nevada had stated jailing for the dice setting that has gone on for years. Is there new action in the courts at this time about this issue? Or is this just more ongoing BS about Wong's book and those that hope to stop it.

Pay attention. This should not have to be repeated endlessly. The Nevada statutes on cheating makes interfering with outcomes illegal. It has not been deteremined if this applies to dice setting. Nobody is trying to stop anything. Some of us would rather wait for a definitive answer before risking upsetting our whole lives. I anxiously await your next tirade.

Your legal defense cannot be "well Scoblete said" as he has no authority. Believing so is truly "idiotic." I encourage you and the others to play and set the precedent. I will wait on the sidelines and root for you and the time when there is a definitive answer. The price of not waiting is too high for me.

These responses from those who just want to argue do provide some ongoing comedy. Try to find someone who can read to you what I have written above. You may notice that I asked the Gaming Control Board for their OPINION.

When there is a dispute in the casinos it is generally settled by the GCB. No prosecution would ever be successful if the Gaming Control Board ruled that dice setting was legal.

We must have this determination as there is a serious problem in Nevada with inconsistency in gambling rulings. Unfortuntely, there is a clear bias in favor of the casinos and against the players. They have stated that obvious cheating such as preferential shuffling is OK. More inconsistency when an 18 year old hit for a million dollars at a Caesers slot machine, the GCB said he could not collect due to being underage. Then when an underage person who lost his money asked for his money back from a casino due to being underage, the GCB ruled against him too. The only thing consistent is their bias. But that's OK for you as some crapshooter assured you otherwise! Without a definitive answer from the courts or GCB, you play, I'll wait.

I will only repeat what I said last time: Don't drop the soap!

Knew a guy who said that he wasn't going to get a big picture television set because better ones would be made in the future. He was right. They were. Too bad he died before they came out. He never got to see a big set in action. He died with a 19 incher. Keep waiting Chappy and you sure do have a bug up you know where about soap and prison. Hmmmm.

I doubt that the Gaming Control board will issue an "opinion" of what appears to be a legal matter. It would only come back to haunt them in the future. I suggest that you contact the Clark County DA's office.

You might also ask them to summarize previous prosecutions involving craps.

While you're waiting to hear from them, try to learn how to relax.

Perhaps you need to relax. The disputes in gambling are resolved by the GCB. Next time you are in a Nevada casino and there is a dispute they will call the GCB to decide the issue, except maybe in the Yukon! I look forward to your next trivial complaint.
