What is the opinion of the Dealertainer phenomenon. Impersonators at the Imperial Palace dealing from CSMs.

The Imperial Palace's late owner was an strange old kook, who among his weird habits, was a fondness for things Nazi. Even had a party in honor of Hitler's birthday one year, which got him into some hot water with the gaming commission.

Ralph Engelstad was fined by the Nevada Gaming commission for having a party celebrating Hitler's birthday. He was an avid Nazi memorabilia collector (and you can see Hitler's car in the Auto Collection). Many players, in response, nicknamed the IP "the Nazi Palace".

Honestly, I don't think Mr. E was a Nazi...just a memorbilia collector with bad taste. I had a friend try to tell me that the if you flew over the IP-Vegas it is shaped like a giant swastika...this is bullshit...but Ralph's stupidity and insensitivty in this regard got all the rumours started.

is fine with me....personally I could care less one way or the other as I'm looking at the cards...not the dealer.

can the casino make money with it? The casino will be innovative and use any idea that can make them more money. I think (from a casino perspective) that sidebets would be more lucrative. If you want to have someone look like a celebrity, etc., they will probably want more money. If this increase in costs does not see an increase in revenue, it will most likely be abandoned.

I still think the smart move would be to have topless dealers. The potential to make money there is great. I can just imagine a ploppy hitting a 16 vs. 6 while too distracted by the dealer's "assets". This could lead to very bad play overall.

Personally it doesn't really matter to me but if the games are fun to some people the I certainly won'tand in their way. If it gets more people to the tables, this is good for the game in general. Certainly no casino would have all tables full of impresonators, just not cost efficient. These tables could be loud and obnoxious drawing pit attention away from counters which would be a grand thing.

I haven't seen this plan in action, who is being impersonated? If they are trying to draw in a different crowd good for them. I like the idea as it can keep non counting members of my party busy if the rules aren't too bad.

It's mostly older "legends", Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Liberace, sprinkled in with Madonna, Janet Jackson, etc.
They use all CSMs at the tables, but the dealers are really bad and make frequent mistakes.
