I'm curious about cheating casinos and I have two questions.
1) What is the most common way they cheat. Taking a wild stab I would guess it is by removing the tens and putting in 3s 4s 5s and 6s. Not too earthshaking a guess but could anyone help me more precisely on what they may do?
2) What is the best count to detect cheating?

..you are more likely to get cheated by a dealer then the casino specifically (assuming the casino you are referring to is regulated). The dealer method is most likely going to come in a hand held game with them dealing seconds. At any rate, cheating by casino's or anyone in it has become increasingly rare. The casinos have too much to lose, so they are watching their people as closely (if not closer) then they do the patrons. Technological advancements have only made it easier to catch...
If you really are worried about switching, the only way I could think of is to pick a card you think they have put in more of and do a side count, but that is mentally taxing and just doesn't make sense to me. There is so much competition out there, if you really think a casino has been, will or would cheat you, just do not play there.

mainly in non-USA casinos, mostly in dealing seconds. If you have a company and you suspect the casino cheats, have your company watch dealer's hand closely which may scare them. When deal seconds, the cheaters need to know the first card. It is done by marks on the acrds. The cheaters will put their hands on the cards frequently to feel the marks on the cards or watch the backs of the cards or watch the small mirror in the shoe. I believe I came across deal seconds at Prague, Magusta, Bogota, Cali, and Colombo. I was only short decked at Sorak Park.
I've played at the Grand Casino and Inter-Continental. I only saw bj games being dealt from shoes.
