It was on a Christmas Day during World War I. The troops had been fighting a bloody trench war for months. Imagine shooting at your enemy, located 50 feet away on the other side of a piece of wasted, Barren land known as No Mans Land.
It was on the morning of Christmas Day that a German soldier, armed with a white kerchief tied to the barrel of his rifle, bravely walked towards the English side, stepping over the bodies and barbed wire. Upon reaching the center of No Mans Land, he stopped and sat down. Amazed and perplexed, a cease-fire ensued without any request or command being given. After a few minutes, a reluctant but brave English private stepped out of the safety of his trench and met the German soldier in the middle of No Mans Land. Both sides were astonished. What happened next was even more incredible.
The German soldier pulled out two items; the first was a bottle of Schnapps (100 proof alcohol, a.k.a. German salad dressing). He offered the English soldier a swig which he quickly accepted. The second item was a folded piece of paper. He handed it to his enemy. The Englishman unfolded the paper, reached for the bottle and drank yet another shot. As tears were streaming from the eyes of both men, the Englishman pulled out his own folded piece of paper and handed it to the German soldier. After inspecting the paper, the German soldier felt the need to take a shot of Schnapps himself. Something strange was brewing on both sides of No Mans Land. Both sides began to step out of the trenches with their weapons pointed down in a non-threatening manner and walked towards the soldiers sitting among the death and destruction. After reaching ground zero, the bewildered, tired and disheartened soldier were surprised to see that each soldier had presented his enemy with a picture of the wife and children they left at home.
By now, all of the soldiers were out of the trenches and trying to communicate with drinks and pictures. A Christmas dinner of fresh caught and roasted rabbits, food rations, cigarettes and alcohol was shared by all.
The high command would never have believed nor would they have approved of such good will and mingling of the troops. Nonetheless, it happened and it lasted that entire Christmas day.
This is a true story whose point is about to be made clear.
Both sides came to the realization that they really had no reason to hate their enemy and that it was their leaders who were using them by spilling their blood to make a point and resorted to war to make their point. They didnt care how many lives it cost as long as their point was made. After months of shooting and killing each other, neither side gained one foot of new territory. Wouldnt a person of average intelligence think that all those men died in vain? A treaty was eventually signed as the leaders and commander knew what would have to happen eventually. Do you really think the upper command thought that the war would go on forever? What are the odds of that? Fight right up to the point to where they themselves would have to fight and die? Or did they know that a peace treaty would eventually be reached and all the boys could go home (or at least the survivors)?
Today, the casinos are much the same. Did they really think that by portraying smart players (a.k.a. advantage players) as cheaters, con artists, and the dregs of society out to ruin the lives of hard-working people that all surveillance people would believe it? Do casinos think so little of their own surveillance people that they dont think they have the ability to form their own opinion? As the casino began turning on their own employees, it never dawned on them that a few, proud, brave and professional employees would take a stand and say, No more! I have dined with my so-called enemy and found they are not my enemies at all. After all, it was the casinos that requested that they come to their house so that they could win treasures and unimaginable wealth and lured them even deeper with the dream and vision of lust, alcohol and free rooms with ALL the amenities. Would you have given in to the temptation if the truth were advertised? You cannot possibly win here. If you do, we will beat you physically or throw you out of your rooms into the streets during the early hours of the morning. You have no chance of winning and we practice the art of discrimination against those who employ unacceptable anti-casino tactics such as thought, common sense and will power. Surveillance people everywhere are starting to re-think their leaders policies and rationality. Finally they are seeing truth for what it is. Surveillance people are not so close-minded and ignorant as to not have their own opinions. The casino does not hatch and harvest brainwashed employees yet! But, like soldiers that are trained to hate and kill others, the casino has the power and ability to buy the loyalty of their surveillance employees at a very, very cheap price. Dealers, valet parkers, and even cooks make more per hour than the typical hard-working surveillance observer.
So, what happened on the battlefield on the special Christmas day? After the Christmas celebration, the soldiers slept on the area known as No Mans Land. The next morning they awoke, had coffee together, wished each other luck, shook hands and then split like the Dead Sea to their pre-determined sides. Within minutes the bullets began to ring out and fly indiscriminately making their marks and killing and entire generation of young men.
