Card Changing !

Your at the table and the shoes are finally seeing more frequent positive counts, it's perfect, then from out of know where the casino pit critter ask to have your bets pulled back and their changing cards! I realize the casino does have some rule about changing cards every 6 to 8 hours, I just hate to see it happen. Should an advantage player back away from the table for a few hours once the fresh cards are brought into play? It always seems like the Dealer doesn't bust and pulls cards to make every hand when the new cards are put into play. Or is this just normal Fluctuation I'mm seeing?

On the contrary, your suggestions proved to be right on track! We had a few communication mistakes ( signals crossed ) but outside of that we walked out with a $ 340 profit. Our bets were a little conservitive being our first session with a new strategy! This new approach does work indeed! My follow up question in regards to the house bringing in new cards and dominating the table is based upon my interest in learning more from other's experiances. I'm assuming that the house/player advantage/disadvantage remains the same as before the new cards were introduced. People seem to pop in and out more after the game was put on hold for the 20 to 30 minute shuffling time. Thanks for sharing..

Obviously, there is NO mathematical reason why new cards should make any difference at all.

But my emperical experience is that they DO may a difference.

Maybe it's all in my head, but I don't care, especially when it's so easy to just go to another table or casino. At minimum, moving gives you more playing time because you're not wasting 15-20 minutes with the new wash & shuffle.

Since you mentioned "shoes" I assume that you were indeed playing a shoe game. This means that you were probably playing through a shift change. Generally this is not advised for obvious reasons. Casinos change cards on the shoe games once every shift. Casinos usually change cards on hand held games every 2 or 4 hours. Hand held games do not take too long to change cards. If there are shuffle machines then there will be 2 different packs of cards each of a different color and it will take somewhat longer. Shuffle machines will shuffle throughly. Hand shuffle is different and may not be as complete. Dealers that hand shuffle tend to clump cards and you may not get a random shuffle. You may be able to exploit that. If the shuffle is random and complete yet you are seeing the dealer make hand after hand then you are just experiencing normal fluctuations. I once played a new card shoe and won every hand. Those things happen. If a big time gambler would have had that shoe they would have made over a 100K.
