Does anyone know if it is possible to contact Bryce Carlson via email or if there are any discussion forums for discussing Advanced Omega II strategies?
Does anyone know if it is possible to contact Bryce Carlson via email or if there are any discussion forums for discussing Advanced Omega II strategies?
I have Bryce's e-mail address, but I don't think he gives it out. Do you have a specific question, or many?
Don
properly vouched for.
I had a specific question about Under/Over betting using AOII, whether it was advisable to use the Ace side count (in reverse) to increase it's power. Blackjack for Blood doesn't indicate that an Ace side count be used, not does it say that it shouldn't. I've just received an email from another AOII user, nevertheless I would welcome any input from experienced sources.
That's fair enough. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to vouch for me. But I am very conversant with AOII system. I have memorised the full indices for the system as per Blackjack for Blood, including DAS, DHS17, ENHC, and can do true count conversion to the nearest quarter deck. I also keep a side count of Aces and am working on keeping a side count of 7's at the same time for Super Sevens.
I am not an experienced casino player. I play against machines at clubs in Australia. I have run many simulations (of hundreds of millions of hands) using AOII and am extremely impressed with its power. It's right up there with the best there is, and I am delighted and feel privileged to have this system under my belt.
The question that has prompted me to contact this forum is about the possible use of Ace side count in Under/Over betting. But there are a few other questions I'd like to ask about other side bet games, such as bust out. Whilst these games are fairly rare, it would be nice to be able to 'complete' the system to my satisfaction to take full advantage of its power. As you know, side bets are often a great camouflage for card counters, as side bets are a bad bet for the uninformed.
Hope you can help. There doesn't seem to be many people out there using AOII. Maybe they think it's too much work. Well, maybe it is, unless you plan to use it longterm. It really is very powerful!
By the way, are there other indices available, especially for really high counts (when big bets are out)?
Thanks.
Alan
Alan,
First, I was kinda teasing. Bryce will probably email you if you are appropriately persistent and convince Stanford Wong you are a safe bet. I think he probably contacts Bryce Carlson to see if he is willing to give out his email address. A few other people on this site probably have his email address. There are a lot of flakes on this site (surely not me,eh?) and some casino people, so folks are really cautious about giving out contact info on professional players.
Second of all...WOW, you have gotten further with AOII than I can imagine...I'm duly and truly impressed. I have a helluva time counting, keeping Aces and playing the "18". By the way my sources have lead me to believe the 7 bet is not worth pursuing but good luck if you try. I have not ever had an over-under game so I can't speak to techniques for this, although I do hear AOII is a good one for it.
When I first started playing Carlson's system in the Casino it truly felt "Ferrari" like and I won 7 yimes in a row with it. I must have started making more mistakes or regression to the mean got me because I dropped back some but do seem to have an improved rate of win. I haven't done any formal analysis yet because of other stuff.
While you wait to hear from the guru himself, you will find many on this site who are very knowledgable about AOII. Here's a tip...look in the member's section or user profiles and many folks list the system they use and these folks will likely gladly answer any questions they can. Other people on this site seem to continually do computer simulations of various situations. All you gotta do is ask !
regards,
jack
First, I saw where Don has responded. He's the most available guru regularly on the site. I suggest you hear what he has to say. Second thought is this: many people here have index generating spread sheet programs and the like and I'm sure you'll easily find somebody to run you a set out to the end of the set of real numbers. Or if everyone's busy, they'll likely tell you where to get the best of such programs.
long live Frank and Gladys (my heroes !),
jack
I don't have the EORs handy for over/under right now but your final count would be the equivalent of (ace through ten) +2, +11/13, +11/13,+24/13....to -28/13 for the tens
This is still not too good for the over/under bet! Notice how the 2s, and 3s are undervalued and the 4,5 and 6 overvalued in the extreme.
I've run many simulations, including comparisons between different counting and betting systems. That's why I am an AOII user. Also, the book covers the many variations in detail, such as DAS, DHS17, ENHC and double exposure. That's what spurred me on. Wong's Professional Blackjack is much more thorough though, but I just couldn't get my head around so many indices. It has been a valuable reference though (as indeed the many other books I've got). You are right about the Super Sevens. The opportunity doesn't come up all that often, but it's a bit of fun, and occasionally, just occasionally it comes good.
