Most prevalent of Landry's restaurants in this area are the Joe's Crab Shacks. The food is good, but they have some strange management habits.

They play music much too loudly, and the waiters and waitresses sit down at your table to take your order. They also have a ritual of cranking the music up even higher, and having their employees do a dance. Once, in the middle of a business lunch, we were interrupted by a vulgar hip-hop dance.

I hope they don't ruin the Nugget.

And here I thought they were doing so well. Were there any clues that Poster was shopping GN around? Geez, just because the tv show flopped . . .

It's just not appropriate to interrupt a group of customers in coats and ties discussing business by putting on such a show right in front of them.

They are making $150 million on the sale, after holding the property for only about a year. For that kind of return on investment, I would sell in a heartbeat.

I did hold some hope of the internet guys kick starting a down town rejuvination. However I can not see a company doing the same, personally I believe downtown needs characters and entrepreneurs (sp?) to make it work.

The GN was, literally, packed! All the time. They may have taken some high roller losses, but I think that would be a little suspect, considering what their going to get for it.

BTW, I think that was their plan all along. And isn't it just a little coincidental that a "Stations Casino" family member is the buyer?

You know, a casino just can't make any money on those. The table hold is what, at least 1% less than the rest of 'em? They should have made it 6:5 like everyone else. Or better yet, they should start paying you less than even money for hitting a snapper.

Yeah! They might still be around if they'd only have paid 4:5. Say, I wonder if I could be a casino manager?!!!

And you can bet that it will be 6:5 after the takeover --- if the single deck game survives at all!
