I see where I can purchase "How to play winning blackjack" written by J.Braun for about $52. Does anyone think it is worth it,because it is out of print.(I am not a book collector,I just want good information) I have several other books by name authors and there seems to be a lot of repetition.

and no flaw.

I've purchased three copies of "How To Play Winning Blackjack" through various sources and have paid twenty, fifteen, and ten dollars. Granted, my copies are in less than perfect shape, but nonetheless, they are still nice reading copies. I think if one is patient and resourceful, he may find pretty good deals for his books. Fifty two dollars for a near mint or better book would be a pretty good deal as most would ask for one hundred dollars plus, but if the book is degraded, I won't pay that much.

Braun's book is one of my favorites. I especially like the basic strategy win-loss probability charts he presents.

Thanks for your input,(they only say it is used)the main reason I,m asking is I live near the riverboats and they only have 6 to 8 deck shoes, dealer hits soft 17
1 & 1/2 to 2 deck cut off, no sur. It seems most info. is about 1 or 2 deck games.I know BS but most books say CC is hardly worth it with these rules.

Braun's book is a classic, and a worthy addition to any blackjack library. Many consider his presentation of basic strategy to be the best ever.

However, it won't tell you how to beat the mediocre shoe games you mention. For that you will want a copy of Blackjack Attack, 2nd Edition, by Don Schlesinger.

Chapter One is entitled, "Back-counting the Shoe Game," and is exactly what you need to know.
