Bored Idea of the day

Okay, I am going to get yelled at for being an idiot. But I just had this idea... (more like something that could be potentially funny but would probably never happen)

Well, it could potentially happen when a bunch of the more experienced counters on here decided to retire from blackjack and decide to go out with a bang...

How do you think a casino would react if we got 30-50 counters together, go into a casino and all start spreading $25-$300 at the same time. (same spread, etc...) How ridiculous would that look? and how do you think they can go about throwing us out? I mean, we're all using the same spread and all pose the same threat, and even when they do decide to go for it and starts throwing us out one-by-one, can you imagine how bewildered the ploppies looking at the casino throwing out one person, then the guy next to him, then the guy next to him...

Don't you also think this would leave a really negative impression of the casino on the other players and possibly hurt their business somewhat?

I saw something very similar to what you describe happen a few years ago. The spreads weren't identical, and they ranged from red chippers to black chippers, but the pit was full of counters. As far as I could tell, the pit had not one clue as to what was going on.

Its a really bad idea...it murders the game conditions for the foreseeable future, not just in that casino but in the surrounding area. We do have a symbiotic relationship with the casinos to some extent, this violates the conditions which allow counters to exist in the first place.

30-50 counters in the same place seams like an awful lot. I don't even know 50 people let alone that many counters. Anyway I if you throw out the legistics of getting that many counters ready to quit with the kind of bankroll that would support said spreads it would be neat to see. I don't think the security could throw out that many people at the same time but it would be fun to see the servalence tapes afterward. As long as we are being silly why not have everyone dress like elvis and everytime the count is at a certain level at a predertermined point in the game, say 2 seconds after the dealer takes his second card you could all say an elvisism based on the count.

A true count of 3 could be hunk a hunk of burning love, -4 could be heartbreak hotel, +5 or greater could be fried peanutbutter and bannana sandwich (I think that's right). Moreover you each table would say these things all at the same time like an elvis chorus. Spreads should be identical, the whole table betting the same each hand, that would be funny.

Another thing you could do that would probably get you in trouble is to fake being an android. You could have a little speaker in your clothes that made fake electronic sounds and in a low count you could set off a small smoke bomb in your clothes like you blew a circuit, that would be funny to see. Everytime you go the the bathroom you could say you need to download something. People might think you are crazy, but you might get thrown away for an electronic device though it didn't do anything.

I have been half tempted to show up to a casino in my Jedi outfit (hand made by the way) and count cards. It would give me plenty of oppertunities for thoughtful pauses and I can wave my hand and say things like, "you will give me a ten" or laying out a 22 say "I have 21" and wave my hand. It would probably be funny for about 10 minutes but I'd think that it was hillarious. Anyway if I only lived in Vegas.

I've always wondered what Security would do if you came in wearing one of these. If they ask, tell 'em you can't stand the smoke.

As an alternative, I wonder if an oxygen tank and mask (or cannula -- the plastic thing that wraps around your head & fits under your nostrils) would defeat face recognition.

Man those Jedi's are in the wrong business. Think of the $$$ they could be making.

In episode one (Attack of Jar Jar) Qui Gon Jin made a bet with Watto and used the force to dictate the outcome of a roll of the die. This behavior is questionable for an honorable Jedi however a Dark Jedi wouldn't have a problem with it. Think of the fun one could have, use force bolts to knock out the eye in the sky and get the pit to comp you just about anything. You could spread all you want but you could just let them give you the money.

As far as I know blackjack is never mentioned in the Star Wars universe although there is sa'bac which uses electronic cards (I'd be weary of that one), anyone know the rules to the game?

Yeah, but a more profitable way would be to go to a roulette table and put the table max on a certain number, and put every single bet you could for that number (color, odd/even, street, corner...) and take them for a ride. Then stand there and smile as they come out with the level and leave with a thoroughly confused look on their face.

Let's see what has really bad odds but a huge payoff, Keno would be a good one but there is a limit on that and it's slow compared to roulette. Sporting events would be neat. Anyway why would a Jedi really need the money? And it would be fun to tell the pit to jump in the belagio lake and then watch them do it:)

would be to simply walk into the area they store the high roller chips, and walk out with a few boxs/trays in your arms. Course, you'd go for the highest value chip possible (and I have no idea how much that might be). I'd guess the minimum you'd walk out with would pay off the morgage and put a lambo in the driveway.

I'd suggest people to not do this, unless they have developed some sort of mind control.

No casino would be willing to cash, say, ten-thousand-dollar chips with no questions asked and no idea of where they came from. You'd get grilled at the cage and they'd have to check whether the chips were stolen or forgeries.

And sure, you could use your jedi mind powers to tell the cage to just give you the cash, but if you're doing that anyway, why bother with chips at all? Just go up to the cage and ask them to give you whatever amount of cash you want.
