Books valued by professional players (attn stalker?)

It is often been said that Blackjack Attack has no value for professional players, a point that I agree with to a certain extent. I believe it's most valuable for card counters that are high green/low black and below. Beyond Counting has been praised greatly by stalker and other professional players. If BJA has no value, I suspect that Professional Blackjack, The Theory of Blackjack and others, probably don't have any value as well. Therefore, besides Beyond Counting, what are the "good books" for professional players? Stalker? Anyone? I would really appreciate some input. Thanks

You might try Rick Blaine, David Morse and Bill Zender for some ideas. But professional players rely on a general heuristic for determining the favourability of particular opportunities which change from one year-or even one month-to the next. Books can take years to get into print and are often outdated before they are published. Concentrate on developing the fundamentals of your understanding of gambling and probability.

Is either focused on simple counting or on optimal bankroll calculations. The typical situation for non-counting tactics involves such low long run indexes (N sub 0) that the major portion of BJA, applies to situations that are a very minor portion of a non-counting advantage player's blackjack career.

As mentioned by Grossjean himself, in posts here on bj21.com, it is possible to have very high SCORES (low long run indexes) such that one very quickly has far more than enough bankroll and is hitting table limits very quickly.

So BJA becomes superfulous very quickly!

Table limits don't make optimal betting obsolete. Forced underbetting caused by the limits results in lower ROR, which allows you to bet more aggressively with smaller advantages and restore your overall ROR, thereby making more money.

moreover, i just finished reading Dave Morse's Blackjack Reality and it contains some great ideas. Night Train's BJ in the Zone is also great, but i'm still waiting on the 2nd Edition. you want a book for the professional, Coug: try Ian Andersen's Burning the Tables in LV.

well, almost. assuming you've already mastered the minor leagues (counting), the contacts you make are far more important to a pro than any book, even Beyond Counting.

blaine's book has some team management info if you're looking to go in that direction and i would advise reading blackjack and the law to expand your general knowledge. turning/burning the tables is a waste of good trees imo.

Beyond Counting...I never go on a trip without it...has its own compartment in my suitcase. I think about this book everytime I talk to a cab driver (very funny section in the book about decoding cabdriver speak).

Sharp Sports Betting...what BJA is to Blackjack, this book is to sportsbetting. It usually accompanies my road trips also.

Otherwise, I my best reference is my ability to network with people on "our side". I also bring along several decks of cards to practice cutting at various depths.

Give him credit there. What he fails at is doing his own math analysis. He gets worse when he depends upon the usual suspects (clones) despite thier hostility to him. Tops would be Grossjean with alienated not far behind, in analysis of the mathamatics of non-counting advantage plays.

I suspect there is still a bit too much anger at John May for spelling out what Grossjean only hinted at tactically.
