Blackjack verses Sports betting.

There has been some talk about gearing up for the football season from other BJ gamblers here. I have not even considered this or will not consider it because I enjoy BJ and would rather use my bankroll solely for the game of BJ. I am also inexperienced when it comes to sports betting but it would seem logical to me if I were to bet on sports,, football is not the game to get all hyped up about, baseball is. Reason being is because you must find weaknesses in Vegas odds and try to exploit them. Football is a sport that is much more predictable than baseball and the odds can be adjusted in a more assured way, however in baseball, things may not " Match up so easy" for the Vegas odds maker and is very vulnerable.
So actually baseball is your best bet in my opinion.
Has anyone had any luck with baseball?

for a fact that many if not most bookmaking offices consider baseball season a breakeven proposition or marginal at best. People like to bet hot teams/pitchers and despite the prices this combo can be profitable. When the Orioles went 0-22 (?) dumb money (such as Benjamin Lee Eckstein) bet them as due to win and kept pumping it up each bet until broke long before the 22nd game (message here to progression bettors). Smart money said they had to win first before smart money would bet on them and many people rode quite a profitable streak into six figures betting against them.

I can't speak for every sports gambler that there is, but basically all the ones i know or have worked with, RELY on football season to make the MEGABUCKS. I definitely make ALOT more money betting football, than basketball and baseball and hockey combined, and basketball is my favorite sport; plus i follow evrything about it on the offseason. Yet football is the moneymaker. This is just my 2 cents...later!!

I'm not sure if I believe you are not, just because football is Americas #1 gambling game, does not prove anything to me.
Anonymous, who has provided some insight, claims baseball is more/less not as profitable(marginal) for business. The only logical reason is baseball may be much more unpredictable than football.

I didn't mean to imply baseball was the best, just that it is the least profitable for most bookmakers. They don't make much but they also don't lose much if any either. I wouldn't doubt football to be the best from a handicappers standpoint because of the small number of games compared to other sports and the fairly complete information available on the games as well as the props. One thing nice about baseball though is the availability of a number of games on most given days and the length of the season. And betting ice, that's another story altogether.

Guys that truly make big money betting football aren't going to tell you how they do it, or how it works:

1) Because you have an argumentative nature and a bad rep on these pages.

2) Because there is nothing (read $$$) in it for them.

3) Because (this one is the most important) they like to keep the pool of knowlegable sports bettors as small as possible, to impact the lines as little as possible.

Listen up tour guide, I'm not looking for a flame or trying to start one. My curiousity about sports has raised a few questions, I'm trying to analyze my thoughts. Dont you understand how someone as me,, who is ignorant of sports betting,, may have a few questions?

One more thing, If you think I have a bad rep , thats fine..but dont try to carry the weight of speaking for "The Pages".
Others may have a different opinion. I have not read many of your post so the only opinion I have, is you try to carry too much weight.

I can't tell u exactly why, but let me put it this way, i have about 3 bookies that give me paper lines for football, these guys are clueless, and during football, u can usually bet ALOT more with the books than on other sports. I would really make a killing in basketball, but they only let me bet a nickel a game, so its a real grind. If u know anhything about an edge off of a 6 pt. move, then whacking the other side with a strong probability of a game ending up at one of those numbers, u have WAY THE BEST OF IT!!! MUCH MORE than a true count of +10!! But thats all i am saying...good luck to all the playas on the board....peace!!!

Not pompous, primadonna, nor spouting any "party line". I am totally independent, read virtually everything discussed on the bj21 pages here, keep an open mind, but definately draw my own conclusions based on years of experince as an advantage player coupled with skeptical analysis.
