Blackjack - suggestions on where to play and minimal costs near MGM Grand?

Going to be booking my trip to vegas for June this week. Hope to stay at the MGM Grand due to there special deals.

Anyway - its 10 years since I was in Vegas as used to play like $1 Blackjack to the early hours in the morning. As $1 blackjack is no more that I can find or atleast very rare, any suggestions on the minimal hand costs vs house rules around the MGM Grand or within walking distance?

Even though I like to gamble, I also prefer chatting and the whole experience. Last time I was in Vegas I was up overall.

Any advice appreciated.

There isn't much low-end blackjack near there. Expect $15 min H17 tables nearby, possibly $10 at the Trop on off-hours. The real cheapo games are going to be downtown.

The Sahara at the north end of the strip had $1.00 blackjack for many years but no more. I'm not certain but they may have $3.00 blackjack. Good luck.

The Trop advertises 24/7 $5 games. When they are busy they might have 2 CSM tables with that game, when slow you might find several more, hand shuffled $5 games.
MGM now has $5 games except evenings when they get more of a crowd.

FWIW, I was in LV over the weekend. I didn't get a chance to play in a lot of places, but I was in three MGM properties and even in the early morning on the weekend I wasn't able to find a $5 minimum table at any of them. Planet Hollywood was the same. In fact, in the afternoon and evening PH and the MGM properties only had 1 or 2 $10 tables open, then rest were $15 and $25, and a lot of them were CSM. There may be more $5 talbes open during weekdays.

I did find $5 tables at the Palace Station on Saturday afternoon and I imagine that the other Station properties would be the same way.

Hooters advertises $3 BJ 24/7 on their website. I read in a trip report recently that it is for a 6:5 game, but I have not checked it out personally.

Circus Circus and Slots-A-Fun on the North end of the Strip have $3 minimum tables also. H17 6-deckers.

If you make it downtown, several casinos now have $3 games including Fitzgerald's (8-decker), Fremont (6-decker), and El Cortez (DD).
