Blackjack simulator ready

Hi All,

I believe the blackjack simulator is ready. If you want to try it out go to www.sterlperl.com and click on RUN SIMULATOR. I am still seeking beta testers for the results and setup so tell me what you think.

I am considering selling the simulator for say $5-$50 so tell me what
you think it is worth. I am an unemployed telecommunications worker, so I need the money otherwise I would make the simulator open source.

I created the simulator mainly for myself, so I could get a good idea of the minimum bankroll required for various shuffle points (penetration).

I just added options to hit soft 17, only double on 9, 10 and 11 and no double after splits.

I tested your soft hand and pair split practice programs. Couldn't open the hard hand program and also couldn't even get back into anything again using your link. I think there is a problem with my ISP right now.

Here's my 2 cents worth of critique:

Soft hand totals should be taught with the large number total showing first and a slash could be used to separate the low total, ie., soft 16 could be shown as:

16/6

I have always felt that the hand is first a 16 and then if needed, the same cards would be considered to have a total of 6. It is easier for a new player to learn it in this sequence. (16 or 6, not 6 or 16)

It bothered me that I had to scroll down slightly every time I needed to make a decision on the pair splits. Maybe you could compress everything a little more so as to stop it from doing that.

During one-card draw on doubling and split aces, it would be really cool if the draw card was placed sideways like in real play. It also reminds the learning player that the hand is done.

I think you really have some great potential with what you have created and you should be able to make some $ with it. However, I think you could refine it a little as I have suggested. I'll play with it some more when I can get back into it.

A simulation is a poor way to determine minimum bankroll. You would have to run it millions of times to get what you are looking for. It really is unnecessary to use a simulation as this can be determined mathematically. I recommend you buy Blackjack Attack. Chapter 9 has formulas and charts that show your Risk of Ruin given a bankroll and the standard deviation per hand.
