Blackjack in the Caribbean: any recommendations? (nt)
...and beaches, play strictly for fun.
Most games are mediocre, poor rules (H17, ENHC, etc),
poor pen with few exceptions (65-70% at best), and lots
of sweating if you crank up the bets.
Some places are nicer to play at than others. Would
reccomend Aruba (nice beach), some joints on St. Martin
(nude beaches), and the Bahamas (perhaps), of the ones
I have been to.
Others may wish to contribute their 2 cents.
Forget about finding anything worth much consideration,
other than the beaches (and bikinis)
post there and also set preferences to go back a ways to look for past posts of the same type. Hope that helps.

and heard about several more. Bottom line is I agree with Evesdropper. If your objective is to make money, don't go. Much better games here. If you are going for vacation & fun, then by all means go and have a great time. Play BJ for fun if you still enjoy the game, or forget about it if it has become just a job and simply enjoy the beaches.
The casinos I've been to are the Atlantis on Paradise Island, Bahamas & the one in San Juan, which I forget the name. Atlantis is a very nice resort, but poor BJ and mostly high min tables. There were few tables less than $100 min. There is little else worth seeing or doing crossing over to Nassau. The locals panhandle the tourists to death there.
Stopped over in San Juan while on a cruise. Mostly went to casino to see a night show, and played very little. This was long ago, so info probably wouldn't be trustworthy today anyway. What I saw at a glance was all poor games.
Virgin Islands & Cayman Islands are great Caribbean getaways. Play in the U.S. until you get burned out, then take a break there.
Does anyone have any info on comping at Atlantis? Guess on what bet/time is needed for RFB?
I know this should be on "outside USA", but the thread is underway...

...I may not have made it clear, but the information was for a friend who's heading down there. I think I'll take the advice and tell him to hit the free beach. Thanks for your input.
