BlackJack in Europe...

I'm a new BJ-Player and want to know if I can use the Basic Strategy also in European Casinos...

There is one difference between those Casinos and them in the States:

The Dealer only gets ONE card first... so after the last player hit or busted or stayed, the dealer gets his second card and plays his hand.

this makes the following difference: if I split two 8's... and the dealer has for example an ACE (I could to an Insurance... but I never do that)... but the thing is: If this situation is in the States, no player plays his hands if the Dealer has BlackJack... So I would only lose my money on my hand...
But in the Casinos in Europe (for example) I would split my cards... I will play my hand... and after every one has played his hand, it would be possible that the dealer gets a TEN... so he has BlackJack and everyone will lose (and I would lose twice because I splitted).

So my question: should I use another Basic Strategy if such situations happens ??

BingoC, there are a couple of plays that you should vary when playing a european no hole card game. I put a link below that gives you the correct Basic Strategy for it.

And for starting with card counting... well, there are many systems and everybody has their own favorite. Mine is KO (KO BJ). The other most popular system is Hi lo (book: professional BJ). Another choice could be Red7 (Blackbelt in BJ). You can buy these books right here, just click on the left.

Hi lo is a safe choice, really good.

What I meant is that you have to remember that you are playing ENHC and you should stick to Basic Strategy for the plays that differ between a normal game and ENHC until you have proper indices for them.

For example, if the hi lo index for doubling 11 vs. A is +1 remember that in ENHC that play differs. So until you have indices for ENHC hilo its safer that you stick to ENHC BS.

So the best thing would be if I buy and read a book about Card Counting for ENHC...

otherwise I don't know what to do if such situations happens...

most of the books are written focusing on the US. Many have short references for ENHC but none is written just for that.

The strategy will only differ when the dealer has a 10 or ace up. The best thing you can do is get BJ software and generate the indices yourself. The best choice is SBA but it costs $160. The other choice is BJ 678 that is much cheaper ($50) and also allows you to practice; that's the one I have. You can buy both at the link below.
