Recommendations
As I said recently on another channel, you cannot go wrong with books by Arnold Snyder, Peter Griffin, Stanford Wong, and Don Schlesinger.
If you are just starting out, Arnold's Blackbelt in Blackjack (which is unfortunately out of print) and Stanford's Professional Blackjack are outstanding first technical reads.
If you want to just be a recreational counter, and do not plan on advancing to more advanced and difficult advantage play techniques, Knockout Blackjack by Vancura & Fuchs will teach you one of the easiest and effective counts around.
Don Schlesinger's Blackjack Attack is your more advanced text book. The third edition is about to come out, giving you just enough time to read some of the preparitory material listed above first.
I'm sure you will receive some other recommendations by others.
