black jack tournaments and card counting

is it possible to count cards in a blackjack tournament? If they find out that you are counting cards can you be kicked out of the tournament? Is it a good idea to count cards in blackjack tournaments?

won't help you very much

Money management along with the appropriate bet strategy is far more important. Counting Cards is pretty much a waste of time and energy that could be better served doing other things in a BJ tournament.

They couldn't care less

In a tournament, you're not playing against the casino you play against the players.So counting cards bothers nobody but it's not very helpful anyway.You should rather look for the standings of your opponents and choose your bet size accordingly.
Another question is whether it makes sense for a card counter to play in such tournaments because it's largely a matter of luck.The ev compared to a cash-game is in most cases unsatisfactory.
