Million Dollar Blackjack is not outdated
and probably never will be. If you are looking at what type of games that are being dealt then you miss the point of the book. Since this was a discussion about playing blackjack professionally, I would like to mention that I think that the Uston books are the only ones that give you a little glimpse of that world. Million Dollar Blackjack and Uston on Blackjack are both great.
But, those who are looking for rules, penetration, counting systems, etc, will miss the meat of the book. The accounts of actual play in the casino, the meetings with other players and team partners, the legal issues, the planning, the successful execution of the plans or the move to plan B, dealing with Griffin, etc. This is what pro bj is about and there might not be anywhere else to read about it.
On the other hand, the Uston books are not something you need to carry along on playing trips. Blackjack Attack and Professional Blackjack always come in handy and are good to take along, as is BJRM if you have it on a notebook computer. Beyond Counting is good to have along also if you are looking for some other opportunities. And, of course, what ever the book on your chosen system is.
