Don't you see what is really going on here?
Here is what is really happening with regards to Peter Ruchmann and the 'Vegas Challenge' or whatever it was called. Ruchmann is now a casino employee (and, though maybe not officially so when he participated in the production of that show, he was no doubt underway to becoming one) and, as such, has plenty of motive to propagate misleading information about how casino games work. One such myth is that bad players at a table can somehow turn the cards against you. Whether or not there is a direct profit realizable from having people believe in this particular line of thinking is unknown to me but, what is clear, is that filling the masses of hapless blackjack victims with false information about how the game works IS profitable. So, in the 'Vegas Challenge' Ruchmann set himself up as a blackjack authority and, his authority established through the oft-unquestioned medium of television, proceeded to pass off falsehoods on the unsuspecting viewers of the travel channel.
One could argue that you shouldn't believe everything you see on TV which is, of course, a valid point. But I maintain that one should not sell out to casinos and then proceed to work in devious and nefarious ways on their behalf.
