I am thinking of making a trip to Potawanni casino in Milawukee a short trip up 294 N from Chi. About a hour and half my car. They have decent BJ and a new Poker room!
I like Empress casino in Joilet,IL for BJ playing. Comp's seem to be better at Harrah's in Joilet.
I also like the Missippissi Belle in Clinton , Iowa. Over the stateline of IL on the mighty and scenic Mississippi River, It's 'country farmer" and small. But has good games. Just watch for cops if your speeding on those 'country 'roads.

The pen is worst in chgo area. Straight 2/6 or 67%. Also worst rules in area b/c H17.
I agree. I tried the Empress and Harrah's in Jolliet. 2/6 pen, not
good rules, and paranoid heat at Empress.
ALso, at Harrah's, they even use opaque shoes. Both places charged
$5 to enter. I didn't even play at Harrah's.
yeah, what's up with those opaque discard trays? It isn't the opaque shoes as it is the discard trays that bother me. I have a fantasy of walking into that casino and making a fortune playing against those opaque discard trays. I know it can be done probably relatively easy but when better casinos are close, I don't bother.
