Bellagio BJ & Comps

Went to Bellagio 10/22-25, 2003.

They have a small pit up front by the cage and craps tables, with Double Deck and a few 6 deck shoes. These games were always at least $100 min at night, occasionally $50 during the day. The DD had very bad penetration.

There was another pit, back by the Sports and Poker rooms, that was only open at night, and weekends during the day. It seemed that the DD games had better penetration, and sometime had $50 mins. Even at night, one of the shoes was $10 min.

On the other hand, EVERYTHING else was the continuous shuffle machines. Blech. But these areas were very busy (as was Casino War!?).

Regarding comps, I played 10 hours, with an average of $117 bet. For this, I got casino rate of $129/$199 weekend. I was told, if I want more for my play, go to Treasure Island or NY/NY.

By the way, I walked across the street and saw 6/5 BJ at the Aladin. Continuous shuffle, 6/5 BJ, and people packed in to play. I think the days of the edge BJ player are nearing an end.

you should put in time at some smaller joints that appreciate your level of action. There are places where you'll get room and meals fully comped easily for a $100 average bet. I don't know how serious of a player you are, but serious players cannot afford to spend an average bet for a hotel room, or half of an average bet for dinner.

who stay at places like Bellgio pay full price for their rooms and meals and don't have a clue about how bad 6/5 payoffs are. This is the target market for the high end strip casinos.
