question about backcounting. ive tried to employ this strategy several times, but am always very paranoid about it. It seems incredibly easy to be detected with this method. they say you should stand between tables, be inconspicuous, look at a craps table, or whatnot. but even still, i feel like a sitting duck just waiting to be had. especially if you stand beside a couple of negative tables, not jumping in. then you find a positive one, jump in, but leave in a couple minutes for the bathroom. it seems too easy to be detected. is this really a viable method? and w/o it, why even play a shoe game with just straight counting? not worthwhile. also, in backcounting, how can you determine your spread. Ex.- Say, I jump in at +2 or +3 and I'm betting $50. then i spread up to a max bet of $100 at +5. Would this be a 1-2 spread or a 1-10, since Id bet $10 as my minimum bet if I weren't backcounting. I would assume it'd be considered a 1-10 spread, but just would like confirmation.
