Basic Strategy(s)?

Hi Guys,

I'm fairly new at this and I need to get an "expert opinion" on this... I've been perusing through a few bj books and it seems even the experts don't have a concensus on proper "basic strategy". Of course, the majority of the decisions are the same, but there are a few where even the experts don't seem to agree (even in same # of deck games). Why is this and what's the OPTIMAL basic strategy for Reno rules (I live closest to there). Also, should I make any modifications to the KO count to improve the performance to suit the Reno games? Thanks.

Much of the answer depends on the rules for the game you will be playing, how many decks are involved, etc. Dealer standing at S17 or H17, single double six deck, double only 9-11. All can make changes in the perfect BS, although it may not have that much of an effect on your overall expectation. Penetration and use of bankroll can be more important than these fine nuances.

Thanks guys, that was all very helpful. I have another question now about KO. I've read somewhere that you can convert the running count of KO to true count for higher expectations. Do you know how to do this? Any sites? Also, what's the new expectations and how does it affect playing/betting?
